A Small Vessel to Hold: Hand Built Clay with Grace Lee

August 21, 2021 | 10am | 1pm | 4pm

In this workshop, participants will be guided through the design, preparation and creation a vessel. Participants will learn: WABI SABI - the art of imperfection and that shapes can be organic. DESIGN OF FORM - think about proportions and shapes while considering the prepared meal and how form would best serve it. CLAY PREP - learning to wedge to help activate the particles. TECHNIQUES - hand built slabs and slump forming. TEXTURES - creating layers of impressions, carving through tools or stamps. FIRING - your pieces will be bisqued and glaze fired at our studio. You will choose your glaze on site and it will be ready in 2 to 3 weeks.

ABOUT Grace Lee

After completing studies in ceramics and an Industrial Design degree from Emily Carr, Grace Lee formed Object + Handmade Studio in 2013, a finely curated artisan market showcasing North American artists. OH Studio functions as her working ceramics studio and houses many workshops in all mediums.
