AGES 6–9 YEARS: 10AM & 1PM. This fun workshop offers kids the opportunity to paint and create hanging ceramic sculptures! For the younger kids (6-9 yrs) a variety of bisqued ceramic shapes will be provided (circles, stars, animals, etc.) that they may choose from and then paint. Participants will then use twine, beads, and a found branch to assemble their final ceramic sculpture which they can take home to hang and display that day. AGES 10–14 YEARS: 4PM. Learn to make hanging ceramic sculptures from scratch! This workshop will introduce participants to cutting shapes out of clay slabs and how to work with underglazes and carving techniques to give their clay pieces unique textures and detailing. There will be a mini follow up event the following week at Studio 116 when participants will pick up their fired clay pieces and assemble them to complete their one of a kind hanging ceramic sculpture. All children must be accompanied/supervised by an adult during the workshop (adults are not required to participate).
