Art Making in the Park!

The 3rd annual CREATE! Arts Festival is a two-day, fun and interactive art-making event this summer, bringing together local artists and the community to explore, learn, and create outdoors in Strathcona park and in Eastside art studios.

Happening outdoors in Strathcona Park on Saturday, July 22nd CREATE! features ticketed Art-Making Workshops + the general admission Create! Art Zone with our Festival Art Shop, public participation art, art demos, food trucks and a fully licensed site with beer, cider and wine from Strange Fellows Brewing! Activities are for all ages and abilities.

  • Art Workshops are $35 + GST for youth/adults and $20 + GST for kids workshops*
  • General Admission Art Zone tickets are only $5 + GST – kids under 12 are FREE

Festival activities move indoors on Sunday, July 23rd, immersing participants in the art production spaces in neighbouring Eastside studios, with ticketed Art-Making Workshops. (NOTE: There are no Park activities on this day.)

  • Learn how to do printmaking, glass fusing, ceramics, painting, Salish singing, story-telling + more
  • Collaborate on group art projects such as giant puppets or squeegee art
  • Explore how glass beads and ceramics are made through artist demos, or take home hand-made artworks and goods from our Festival Art Shop
  • Celebrate with tasty treats from our friends Earnest Ice Cream, WakWak Burger, Mahshiko, Camion Café and Strange Fellows Brewing!

All art activities are brought to you by artists living or working in Vancouver’s amazing Eastside Arts District. The Create! Arts Festival is brought to you by the Eastside Arts Society, producers of the Eastside Culture Crawl.

The Eastside Arts Society is thrilled to announce that the Seventh Annual Art! Bike! Beer! Crawl fundraiser and tour will be held in person on Sunday, July 24th, 2022 a part of the Create! Arts Festival.

Always a crowd favourite, the Eighth Annual Art! Bike! Beer! Crawl fundraiser and tour is Saturday, July 22nd, 2023 and *new this year* will end at the Create! Arts Festival grounds where attendees will enjoy a final tasting pint, food, and raffle PLUS explore the Create! Arts Zone. Tickets are $60 + GST, and all proceeds benefit the Eastside Arts Society. Coming Back To Your Authentic Self Through Poetry

How do we write ourselves back into feeling? How do we use poetry as resurrection? How do we dig and dig and write until all we feel is the truth? In this workshop, we come back to ourselves and our truth through the unique process of poetry, play and performance. Participants will learn poetry as a mode of healing and relearning their authentic selves, sounds and similes.
