CREATE! Eastside Arts Festival is an Eastside Arts Society production. Your support of the Eastside Arts Society is an investment in the arts and artists of Vancouver’s Eastside Arts District. It allows us to build upon a 28-year legacy of connecting community with East Vancouver’s vital population of artists, creating access to culture and fostering a love of visual art for so many over the years, and for years to come.

We are seeking enthusiastic, friendly and engaged volunteers to join our team and provide an outstanding experience for all.

Volunteers must be 19 or over.

Pre-festival:


Promo Support – Volunteers circulate save the date postcards & posters for CREATE! Arts Festival to cafés, community centres, libraries, shops, galleries, etc.

Monday – Friday, July 22-26, 2024 @ Strange Fellows, Off The Rail & Luppolo:


Pop Up Workshop Liaison – meet artists on site, help with sign-in, set up / take down

Friday, July 26, 2024 @ Strathcona Park:


Set-Up Day 1 – Set up tables, chairs, and signage event

Saturday, July 27, 2024 @ Strathcona Park:


Set-Up Day 2 – 10:00am-1:00pm – Continue set up: signage, tables, chairs, water station, etc.
Tear Down – 4:00-8:00pm – Help take down tables, chairs, signage, etc. General park clean up.
Attendee Check In – Welcome all festival artists and participants, check-in ticket holders, process payments for workshops/general admission tickets, and assist with providing festival info/ navigation.
Festival Ambassador – Help keep the festival grounds green and clean, monitor for site safety and crowd management and report issues to staff/security, as well as support artists, festival art shop and event partners with their workshop space, providing information & directions, bussing tables (may require lifting & carrying).
Music Ambassador – Support live music event with load in/ out & stage strikes between sets (will require lifting & carrying).
First Aid – Assist with any first aid related issues – medical training/industrial/ first aid ideal, but not necessary.
Art, Bike, Beer Crawl Team Leader – Leading a group of 10 cyclists/walkers to 3 breweries in the neighbourhood.

Commitment & Perks:

Volunteer shifts on the day of the festival are 3- 4 hours. Complimentary light food and drinks will be provided in our volunteer tent. Volunteers will receive a General Admission pass to our Art Zone with free art activities and a live music show + access to food trucks and a beer garden before or after their shift. Volunteers will also receive a voucher for one free scoop of Earnest Ice Cream!
